The Massage Therapist program is taught over a three-quarter period, with each quarter encompassing different courses of study.
1. This first quarter includes the following three courses:
- General biology, medical terminology, and computer basics
- Body systems
- General psychology, customer service, and computer basics
2. The second quarter includes the following three courses:
- Introduction to massage and anatomy/physiology
- Therapeutic massage
- Deep tissue sculpting
3. The third quarter includes the following three courses:
- Sports massage
- Traumatology
- Personal fitness and nutrition
You will have the practical experience to obtain employment as a massage therapist in a number of healthcare settings, including medical and rehabilitation clinics, hospitals, and doctors´ and chiropractors´ offices. Opportunities also exist in health spas, hotels, fitness centers, sports organizations, tourist destinations, and cruise ships. There is the possibility of going into private practice as well.

You will gain the necessary skills to review a rough copy of a transcript, proofing the stenograph-to-English translation to check for any mistakes. A transcript can take many forms, including a file saved on a disk, an e-mail file, or a computer display that is connected to a court reporter's machine.
The Scoping Technology program emphasizes the following skills:
- Editing transcripts
- Employing proper punctuation
- Utilizing correct usage of the English language
- Ensuring proper format
You will make any necessary changes to a transcript, ensure that it is in the correct form send it back to the court reporter. Errors may include homophones.
